Thanks to owner Dr. Jim Turner for once again hosting this annual competition. In the raw bench press event, first-time competitor Ashley Owens set the national record for the 18-19/148 class with 115. For the novice men it was Josh Emerson for the win at 132 with a new national record of 150. Shawn Fritsche set his national record at 148 with 215. Kody Harvey broke the national record for the16-17/148 class with 230. Matt Turner broke the record at 18-19/165 with a strong 305. In the junior division it was Jordan London with a new national record 340 for the 181 class. Royce Cummings did the same at 275 with a big 450. Justin Turney got a big 345 for the win at submaster 181, lifting with an extremely narrow grip. For the master 45-49 age group, it was Larry Emerson, establishing a new national record for the 132 class with 205. Tommy Jackson won at 181, matching his own state record there with 275. Kevin Westmoreland won at 308 with 315. At 50-54 was our only real competition between Nick Dwinell and John Alaniz. In a close one, Nick won out over John 380 to 370. Our final raw bencher was also our best lifter of the day, Phillip Brewer. At a bodyweight of 180 Phillip finished with a personal best and new national record of 475 for the win at open/181. In the assisted division Zach Elkins won at novice 181 with 315. Our biggest lift of the day came from Kevin Loudermilk, who set a new national record at submaster 242 with 640. Mike Dalpoas won at 275 with 460. In the 40-44 age group Brett Jordan won at 181 with 370 while Sammy Smith took the 198 class with 455. Big Mike Hamby had some problems with his shirt and failed to get in a lift at 45-49/275. At 50-54/220 Paul Radmilovich had a good day, finishing with 325. Our final assisted lifter was Daniel Gonzales, who only got in his opener of 415 for the win at open/shw. The best lifter award for the assisted lifters went to Kevin Loudermilk. We had one curler, Blake Channel, who established the national record at open/181 with 155. As an added feature we had a bench press for reps competition with four participants. Using their individual bodyweights, Matt Turner (155) finished with 32 reps. Justin Turney (170) got 21 while Jordan London (175) ended with 35. But the most impressive lift came from Phillip Brewer, who at a 180 bodyweight, pressed that weight an incredible 58 times! Moving now to the deadlift event it was Joel Wilson for the win at novice/165 along with a new national record of 445. Tommy Jackson broke the national mark at 45-49/ 181 with 455. Joshua Kosarek also got a new national record for his weight class, 60-64/181, finishing with 425. Our final puller was Steven Trotman, who lifted as a guest lifter in the open 275 class, finishing with his opener of 525. The best lifter award went to Tommy Jackson. Thanks to owner Kim Howarth for once again hosting this annual event. In the raw bench press competition Mike Head came up from Iowa to set a new Wisconsin state record for the wheel chair men's 165 class with his personal best 150. In the novice division it was Tony LaCombe with 250 @ 181 while Kooper Barbion won at 220 with his opener of 225. Nick Volbrecht won at 13-15/165 with 175. For the 16-17 age group Jeff Myers broke the state record for the 148 class with 260 while Josue Gomez won at 181 with 230. At 18-19 Dakota Gardipee set the state record at 148 with 215 while Josh Hackman finished with 255, tying the state record at 165. Zach Cervantes broke his own state record at 198 with his first official 400. In the junior division Christan Arellano won at 148 with 215 while Dan Zimmerman took the 165's with 300. Our final junior competitor was Matt Ritzert who won at 181 with 280. Brandon Horton captured the title at submaster/165 over Ryan Campbell 235 to 205. Jon Schaitel tied his own state record at 40- 44/242 with 350 while Dave Leslie won at 45-49/220 with 410. Dave also captured the title at open 220 as well. At 50-54/275 it was James "Mo" Mawhinney, taking the title there with 275. Richard Fischer upped his state record by five pounds at 60-64/242, finishing with 320. For the open division Brian Helgert broke the state record for the 148 class with 275. Ryan Robbins won at 181 with 295 while Tschombe Davidson took the 198 class with 435. Tschombe, who is the state record holder here, was also awarded the best lifter trophy among the benchers. In the assisted bench division Dan Markey won at 18-19/220 with 330 while world champion Jim Ray won at 50-54/shw with his opener of 560. We had two bench for reps contestants, Dakota Gardipee and Dan Zimmerman, both of which set new state records for their respective classes. At a 140 bwt. Dakota got 21 reps versus Dan's 34 reps at 165! For the curl event Mike Head finished with 80 @ wheel chair/165. Raymond Hood got 90 @ 13-15/308. Jon Schaitel finished with 130 @ 40-44/242 while Dave Leslie got a personal best 160 @ 45-49/220. Our final curler was seventy-three year old Richard Lee who won at 70-74/148 with 90. Each of these lifters set new state records for their classes. Turning to the deadlift event, first-time puller Page Hood won at 13-15/114 with 120. Eleven year old Page also set the Wisconsin state record for her class. For the men's 16-17 age group it was Jonathan Baures over Jeff Myers for the title at 148. Jonathan finished with 395 to Jeff's 375. Josue Gomez won at 181 with 420. Best Lifter Zach Cervantes pulled a strong 550 @ 18-19/198. In the junior division Christian Arellano won at 148 with 360 while Hector Gomez won at 165 with 430. Matt Ritzert took the 181 class with 435 while Octavio Jaramillo won at 198 with a great 495 pull. Brandon Horton won at submaster/165 with 420 while Tonie Broadway took the 45-49/242 class with 400. At 50-54 it was the legendary Stuart Coogan with a strong 530 pull at 220 while "Mo" pulled 400 for the win at 275. The team award went to Rocky's Power Team. Each year we celebrate the life of Rocky Rauch with this competition. Rocky touched the lives of so many through the years as a bodybuilder, powerlifter and trainer. It is Rocky's spirit that we share on this day. Thanks to my son Joey Latch and to the staff of Delavan Fitness Center for doing a great job of loading and spotting and to our side judges Bob Vivier and Richard Lee for the fine job they did. In the raw bench press event Laura Muraro broke the existing national record at 45-49/220 with 120. For the men at 13-15 it was Spencer Tolson, breaking the national record there with 315. Chris Foster set the mark at 16-17/123 with 190 while Colin Janiszewski hit a new national record of 330 at 165. Colin only weighed in at 156! Terry Cox took the win at 40-44/242 with 370 while Keith Tolson won at shw with 335. Eddie Wells broke the record at 50-54/242 by five pounds, finishing with 405. Dorran Vogler got a new national raw record at 65-69/181 with 235 while Gaylord Good, lifting in his 541st. competition, did the same at 75-79/220 with 250. Gaylord, who resides part-time in Florida, was sponsored by Building Bodies in Rockledge, Florida. In the assisted division best lifter Tom Reece finished with 410 at 40-44/242 while John Dougherty finished with 290 @ 50-54/198. We also had one curler, Dorran Vogler, who set the national mark at 65-69/181 with 135. For the deadlift event Jedidiah Thomas broke his own national record at 13-15/181 with his personal best 505. One day before his 16th. birthday! Spencer Tolson won at 13-15/275 with his second national record of the day and a personal best 435. Guest lifting at 16-17/123, Chris Foster posted a new personal best and national record 315. Shaun Smith hit a strong 575 @ 40-44/198 while John Dougherty finished with 500 @ 50-54/198. Our best lifter for the deadlift event was Nebraska's own Louie Ligouri. Louie finished with a personal best and new national record 580. just missing 600 on his final attempt at lockout when he lost his grip. Training partner Luke Goering also finished with a new personal record for his class, 65-69/220, at 450. Our final puller was Tom Hall, who finished with a new national record at 70-74/220 with 465.
